CHIROPODY

The foot is a marvel of function design. Leonardo da Vinci called it "The greatest engineering device in the whole world". Each foot is a complex of 28 bones arranged to form 4 arches, held together by over 100 ligaments, and activated by some 20 muscles.

It is a complicated structure and therefore has a tendency to go wrong from time to time. The Study of Bio-Mechanics enables the practitioner to diagnose and treat disorders of foot function without surgery in order to correct gait and improve quality of life.

Bio-Mechanics is not a panacea for all ills, and not all patients will benefit, however we are able to provide palliative care for those patients for whom corrective orthotics are not the answer
